With Evernote, all of your notes, web clips, files and images are made available on every device and computer you use.
I have it on my iPad, my iPhone, and all my computers. (There is also an app for Android, Blackberry, and Palm Pre devices.)
The app is free, and a paid version is available. (I've been using the free version for several years, and still haven't run out of space!)
I've used this application for:
Taking notes and recording conversation at the doctor's office
Capturing pictures of webpages I like along with the URL
Creating idea lists for gifts
Taking notes and capturing images at meetings and staff development sessions

Notes can placed in notebooks to organize them, or you can tag each note and then search for the tag.
